Our story began over 14 years ago,
We attended the same middleschool.
In grade 7 Nick asked me out.
It only lasted a month or two before we broke up..
I found out he only asked me out because of a bet
and he heard rumours that I was unfaithful
(We were both 12 years old at the time)

After that we could'nt stand eachother.
We attended neighbouring highschools,
So we would see eachother regularly.
But we acted like complete strangers.
In 2006 I got my first job at NoFrill's,
& a month later Nicholas started working there too.
I was a cashier, He was in meat department.
He'd intentionally ignore or delay in my pick-up calls.
I could'nt stand him and I would complain to my friends.

Nearly a year later, I was heading to the break room
when I passed Nicholas talking to another cashier.
The cashier invited me to join them and I obviously declined.
But Nicholas extended the invite, till this day he has no idea why.
It had been 5 years since we spoke!
we exchanged small talk and went our seperate ways.

Not too long after,
Nick's brother threatened to add me to his facebook.
Facebook led to MSN, MSN led to the phone.
A month later, On September 14th, 2007
I told him I liked him and he laughed
(only cause he liked me too)
He told me his parents would want someone in the church.
I was 16 and was'nt trying to hear it,
plus it was also 5 AM on a school night.
Before getting of the phone he ended up asking
'If I was down'

A month later I turned 17 years old,
For my birthday he bought me a necklace with a cross.
He told me he was gonna put some God in my life
In 2009 he invited me out to a Good Friday Service,
three months later I was baptized.

We were bestfriends first, before anything else.
We had our challenges and trials, especially the first year or two.
But the good always outweighed the bad.
We've both been privileged to grow with eachother,
in more ways than one.
I know that GOD has always been with us,
I've seen GOD's love, mercy, grace and favour
GOD is a prayer awnsering GOD.

On October 14th,2016
at his parents 30th anniversary celebration Nick purposed!
We always had a dream to have an intimate cermony
with our closest friends and family in sweet Jamaica.
Now after 9 years, Lord willing, we will!
and my first boyfriend will become my last and vice versa! xo
