We met on August 28th, 2012 (hence our wedding date choice), Omar and I met at work. The moment he laid eyes on me he wanted to know who I was. He started to ask questions around the job to find out more about me. I guess he finally practiced long enough in front of the mirror to come up and actually talk to me(LOL). After super storm sandy he got the nerve to ask me for my number "for work purposes of course" or so he stated(LOL). I gave him my number and we shared funny messages amongst each other. At the moment I wasnt looking for anything other than friendship and he was very accepting and understanding of this and never over stepped his friendship boundaries. At the time I was going through a bit of an identity crisis and Omar was always there with a helping hand and very wise words to warm my heart. He asked me out for lunch a couple months later and I was hesitant but I accepted. He was very gentlemanly and compassionate. He slowly but surely melted his way into my heart. Omar proposed to me on November 28th, 2013 (The 28th number was a coincedence) on Thanksgiving day and without a doubt in my heart I said "yes I do". I never thought I would of found my true love literally beneath my nose. " Never get rid of the person who understands you more than anyone else".  I finally found my soul mate, someone who understands me so well, even when I dont understand myself. Now we have the pleasure to invite our close friends and family to watch us exchange vows and get married on a beautiful sandy beach on the island of Jamaica.

My maid of honor is Yvette dorva ( but I call her wanda ha ha), shes Omar's cousin but they're actually more like brother and sister. I didnt meet Wanda right away but I was always on the phone with her or Facetiming with her on Omar's phone. She didnt really know me but she was always so supportive about my relationship with Omar and always understood what I was going through. I didnt meet Wanda until two weeks before I turned 26. I finally came over to her apartment in Jersey and it was as if I'd known her for years. I stood over that weekend and we got to know each other a little more and she got to see how much Omar and I really love each other. After that we continued to keep contact with each other and built a bond like sisters. I moved to Jersey in February 2014 and Wanda lives literally right up the block from us. She has been nothing but a great big support to Omar and myself. Although I decided to not have a bridal or groom party (wedding court) I asked Wanda to be my right hand madame. I sent her a silver metal Fortune cookie with a message asking her to be my Maid of Honor. As soon as she got it she called me super excited and responded that she would be honored to be my maid of honor.

Wanda has been nothing but a positive influence and very helpful with all of my needs especially when I act like a bridezilla ha ha. In the little time that we do know each other Wanda knows my style and what I do and dont like and our taste is very similar so this bonding moment makes working together in putting this destination wedding a lot more easier.
