It was during our summer vacation to Bob's Lake in north eastern Ontario that Brett decided to propose to Jenninfer.... It was to be a supprise, and the ring was tucked away in some luggage for the trip. Brett had planned a special trip to Ottawa during that week (a first time there for both of them), and had decided that that would be the best time to propose.

On arrival to the nations capital, Brett tucked the ring away in his pocket as the couple begain to tour the city for the first time. Thier first stop, liuke many other couples visiting the city, was to parlement... That would prove to be a silly move, lol.

While sitting in wait for thier tour of the parliment buildings, the couple was able to see the line up to enter the main building.... A lign, that even when groups entered, seemd to take forever. An ill feeling began to come over Brett as he realized that there was NO DOUBT, thatjust inside the doors to the capital building was, what can only be compared to, airport style security.... Complete with metal detectors, and yes," empty your pockets please!'

It takes Brett a LOT to get nervous... but this did it, and he had to act fast.... He made sure Jennifer was the first to enter the security entrance on thier arrival, and as comly as he could, leaned into one of the guards, and let him know about the ring in his pocket, and the fact Jennifer did not know about it....

Luckily, he was a GREAT guard... and understood completely.... He proceeded arround the security area, wispered in a few ears, and Jennifer was pushed into the next room, even before Brett was asked to empty his pockets....

The next stop is where Brett had decided to propose to Jennifer... Riedeau's Falls. With jennifer turned and looking at the beautiful scenery, this is where he dropped to one knee, and started by saying "Honey... you know I love you, and while we are here, I have one more thing to ask you...". Jennifer in her shock (and beacuse Brett is old and tired at this point), turned arround and thought Brett was falling down.... lol

Afer it was all over, we went to the Casino in Gatenau Quebec accross the river for a celebration and romantic dinner.
