Tim woke Katie up early in the morning to go kayaking in the marshes of Avalon, New Jersey, after celebrating his grandparents 70th (!!) wedding anniversary the day before at the beach.

In the middle of the beautiful beach marshes, they began a conversation about the things they really want out of life, and made a pact to always be there for each other, no matter what comes their way.

They promised to have more adventures together, and decided to seal the promise.

...but when Tim's kayak came up alongside Katie's, he suprised her by asking her to seal the promise with a diamond ring instead!

They celebrated with Grandpa and Grandma Lord over breakfast that morning.
